The Last Of Us Episode 5 Lamar Johnson as Henry Death Explain: Henry is the last person to die in The Last of Us episode 5. After killing Sam, who was infected, Henry is understandably upset. The scene ends with Joel trying to calm down Henry right before Henry kills himself. The events of The Last of Us episode 5 add more depth to Henry’s death, just as they did to Sam and Kathleen’s. In an earlier scene with Joel, Henry talks about doing “bad guy things” and regrets turning in Kathleen’s brother, even though he did it to save Sam’s life. Henry thinks that this makes him a bad person in general.
After Henry shoots Sam and ends both of their stories, things only get worse. When Henry looks at Sam’s dead body, he asks himself over and over, “What did I do?” Henry will think that Henry is the bad guy even more if he has to shoot Sam, because he doesn’t have the same drive to survive as Joel, which makes morally questionable actions less of a big deal. All of this makes Henry’s death worse and gives Sam and Kathleen something to talk about in The Last of Us episode 5.
