Death In Paradise Actor Kris Marshall: Kris Marshall is playing DI Humphrey again in Beyond Paradise, which is a spin-off of Death in Paradise. In the new show, he and his fiancee Martha Lloyd, who is played by Sally Bretton, move to the made-up seaside town of Shipton Abbott.

Tim Key, who is the executive producer of both shows, had a lot of good things to say about his lead actor.

People can relate to Humphrey as a character, and Tim thinks that has a lot to do with how good an actor Kris Marshall is.

It’s a lot to do with Kris, he’s an amazing actor. Those great actors have something: whatever the story is, you want to be sat in the room with them.

If they’re on screen in a bar, you want to be in that bar and if they’re in conversation, you want to be a part of that conversation, too. You’re drawn to them, and Kris has that in abundance.

Fans of Death in Paradise know that DI Humphrey is a friendly and funny guy.

Tim thought the character was different, which is why he wanted to use him in another series.

He said, “Humphrey has this unerring zest for life, people are drawn to that positive energy. Humphrey was always a special character, so why not go back and see what he’s up to?”

Beyond Paradise starts in a new place in Devonshire a few years after Death in Paradise.

In the new season, DI Humphrey and Martha’s relationship is looked at more deeply as they deal with real-life problems.

Tim thought that the new show’s success would depend on how well the two actors got along.

He said, “When Sally Bretton came on the show as his girlfriend Martha Lloyd, we could see how well they got along.”

In the most recent episode, two characters try to forget about the recent death of a baby by getting busy at work.
