Why Have Twitter Spaces Been Removed? Eagle-eyed People on Twitter have discovered that the feature known as “Twitter Spaces” no longer exists, and they all seem to be wondering the same thing: why?

Following Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover, things have been chaotic. There’s never a quiet moment on the social networking site, what with account suspensions and discussions of free speech.

This new dispute, however, stems from the elimination of a widely used function.

With the new Twitter Spaces feature, users may have real-time audio chats within the platform.

Users can host these discussions in a ‘Space,’ an audio chat room, and invite others to join in. For the thread’s life, they will remain at the top of your timeline.

A Space host must have at least 600 followers. Brands can use this function to connect with their Twitter followers more personally.

After discovering a “legacy bug,” Elon Musk stated that Twitter Spaces had to be shut down. The next day he “Should be working tomorrow,” he wrote.

Minutes after Bloomberg reported that journalists who had been banned from the site could still access it, the feature was taken down.

BuzzFeed’s Katie Notopoulos, whose account was suspended along with those of several other journalists, initiated the Spaces chat. Jack Sweeney, who created the Elon Jet Twitter account, had his account suspended with that of The Washington Post’s Drew Harwell and Mashable’s Matt Binder.

Before the CEO attended the session, the journalists addressed Musk’s decision to disable their Twitter accounts temporarily.

Once Musk was confronted with questions about his behaviour, he cut off further interaction. At its height, the conversation was heard by almost 40 thousand people.

A few hours later, The Verge reported that Twitter Spaces had been “at least partially gone from the platform,” with some users stating they couldn’t access it on mobile devices like iOS and Android.
