Who Plays Nebula In Guardians Of The Galaxy? Karen Gillan stars as Nebula, a member of the Guardians and a former Avenger. She is the adoptive sister of Gamora and was trained by their adoptive father, Thanos, to be his personal assassin. Over the course of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, Nebula evolves from a minor villain to a valued team member, healing psychologically as she moves away from the abusive relationship with Thanos.

The Future of Guardians of the Galaxy

While director James Gunn initially hinted at the possibility of a fourth Guardians film, it would likely feature a new group of characters, as he planned to conclude the story of the current team in Vol. 3. Gunn has expressed that he is unlikely to return for another Guardians film, but he will continue working with Marvel Studios on other projects involving the Guardians and cosmic characters.

Actors’ Thoughts on Their Roles

In July 2021, Karen Gillan expressed her desire to continue playing Nebula after Vol. 3. However, in April 2023, Zoe Saldana confirmed that Vol. 3 would be her last time portraying Gamora, although she hopes for the character to be recast with a new generation of actors. Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill, has also indicated his willingness to reprise his role in the future, given the right script. In the post-credits of Vol. 3, it was announced that the “Legendary Star Lord” would return at some point in the future.
