What Is Armie Hammer Accused Of? After keeping quiet for months after many women accused him of rape and abuse, Armie Hammer is now telling his side of the story. Not everyone wants to hear what he has to say, though.
What Is Armie Hammer Accused Of?
In his first interview since the scandal, which was published by Air Mail on Saturday, Hammer denied that he had done anything wrong and said that all of his sexual encounters were voluntary. This time, though, he admitted that he was “emotionally abusive” and said that in his relationships with women in their mid-20s, “the power dynamics were off.” He also said that a youth pastor sexually abused him for almost a year when he was 13. He said his parents knew about it but didn’t care.
What that did for me was it introduced sexuality into my life in a way that it was completely out of my control,
Hammer said
He said that being sexually abused as a child and feeling helpless made his sexual interests revolve around being in control, because being out of control was dangerous and uncomfortable for him. He denied ever having been sexually violent.
People have had different thoughts about Hammer’s most recent statement. Some people were kind to someone who told their own story of sexual abuse. Others were skeptical and felt uneasy about statements that seemed, at least in part, to be an attempt to improve Hammer’s reputation.
When former stars who have been accused of horrible crimes try to get back into the spotlight, like Kevin Spacey or Shia LaBeouf, it can be hard to listen or feel sorry for them, especially if you’ve been through trauma yourself.
