Harry Reid, leader for more than a decade of the Democrats in the Senate, died on 28 December 2021 at the age of 82. His life was the story of overcoming, too good to be true, of a poor boy from Searchlight, in the State of Nevada, the son of an alcoholic and depressed miner, and of a mother who raised the family by doing laundry in the brothels of the area. How someone born in 1939 into such an unflattering environment rose to the highest echelons of power in Washington is something that makes up the kind of exemplary tale that still fuels American myths and hopes. So hard was that childhood and adolescence that, as he recognized in his farewell speech from politics, it was difficult for him to learn to be proud of his roots.
What Did Harry Reid Die Of?

Bush and Democrat Barack Obama – a deep recession. and the rise of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives after the 2010 elections.
