Night Court Season 1 Episode 10: When Rand (Pete Holmes), Abby’s fiance, finds out that she is having trouble connecting with Olivia, he tells her to show Olivia a side of herself that she rarely shows.
Like her late, respected father, Judge Harry Stone, Abby Stone is always upbeat. She takes on the challenge of running the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court, just like he did.
Abby always sees the best in people, and it’s clear that she cares deeply about doing what’s right. She hires Dan Fielding, a former night court district attorney, to be the court’s public defender in an effort to bring order and dignity to the court and keep its colourful group of oddballs in line. Fielding is still very sure of himself, but he must get used to a new boss and job: defending the poor. And Abby is determined to find the caring side of Fielding that is hidden by his cocky attitude.
