New Ice Age Movie 2022 Release Date – The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is coming to Disney+ on January 28.
We haven’t seen a new Ice Age movie in five years, one of the most successful animated sagas of all time. But the wait was worth it. The Ice Age characters – well, some of them – will be back with at least one more film.
The release date has been announced on Disney + Day along with the trailer. Ice Age: Buck’s Adventures will be the sixth film in the franchise, which began in 2002.
In that film, viewers were able to meet Manny, Sid, and Diego, who although they had nothing in common, ended up uniting for a single goal: to return a little boy to his parents, in the midst of the end of the world.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild Is About
As its title indicates, the story will focus on “Buck”, a character who first appeared in the third film of the saga, “Ice Age 3: The Origin of the Dinosaurs”. Thus, we will see the return of the reckless one-eyed weasel, with the original voice of Simon Pegg. However, this does not mean that we will not see the beloved herd of previous installments. The new movie will bring back the trio of Manny, Diego, and Sid, joined by the mammoth Ellie and her possum brothers Crash and Eddie.
The adventure begins when this pair mistakenly falls into the Lost World and meets Buck underground with the dinosaurs. However, there will be new characters like Zee, a skunk played by Justina Machado.
The Ice Saga Continues To Grow
This new film will be the sixth installment of the animated franchise and will arrive 10 years after the original film, released in 2002. At that time, “Ice Age” was successfully received at the box office, being nominated for a Best animated film at the Oscars. With four sequels released (2006, 2009, 2012, and 2016), the saga stands as one of the most beloved by the public, enjoying the epic adventures of the mammoth, the saber-toothed tiger, and the sloth. Unlike the other installments, the new movie will be directed by John C. Donkin, who was previously a producer on the franchise. In addition, it will be the first that will not be made by Blue Sky Studios, after Disney decided to close that animation studio at the beginning of 2021. For now, get ready for the premiere of “Ice Age: The Adventures of Buck” this January 28 on Disney +.
