We talk about Beast of Bangalore: Indian Predator, a Netflix true-crime show that came out on December 17, 2022.
When it comes to documentaries about sexual assault, the topic is always hard to take in. As a woman, it’s even harder to watch because, sadly, many women have been through the same things in different ways. When women watch documentaries or movies about sexual abuse, they get a strange feeling that is hard to explain. It’s almost like being frozen while still seeing what’s going on. This three-part documentary series looks at the stories of three different women.
Beast of Bangalore: Indian Predator Preview
Beast of Bangalore: Indian Predator is a Netflix documentary series about a dangerous man who stalks women in Bangalore and makes them feel unsafe.
Umesh Reddy, one person, changed the look of the whole city. The women didn’t feel safe, and the men didn’t know what to do. It also comes down to how badly the justice system was run.
When this took place in Bangalore, it gave the impression that men finally realised that women are more than just their wives.
In all honesty, I was surprised that there were so few female voices in this documentary since their stories were being told. Men were in charge of this story, and it felt slightly sexist.
I didn’t understand why men were so horrified by this situation but did so little to fix it. Putting men in the spotlight in a documentary series about women and their stories is terrible.
It was never about the people who survived or the people abused by the man. It was always about how this situation affected the men in the city. The reenactments are also shown through a man’s eyes, not a woman’s. This makes the documentary hard to follow.
This point of view is scary, and it doesn’t help women understand what happened in Bangalore. It may have a different effect on you if you are a man.
Beast of Bangalore: Indian Predator Review
Because it is based on a true story and it is crucial to hear stories dealing with sexual assault, it is worthwhile to watch.
For every story that gets out, ten more stays hidden. For survivors to share their stories, they need to feel safe in their community.
But I wouldn’t suggest you watch it because it doesn’t focus on what’s important. This documentary has an odd point of view and doesn’t feel real.
