According to FBI records, Anthony Hughes was the name of Tony Hughes when he was born on August 26, 1959. He was a promising young model with ambitious plans for his future in the industry.
According to The Sun, Tony’s early hearing loss was caused by medications he used as a child.
It’s safe to say that he learned sign language at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf and passed with flying colors. Tony transferred to the University of Wisconsin–Madison to pursue a degree in the apparel industry.
Tony worked at a clothes store and tried his luck as a model on the side, as seen in the Netflix episode.
Supposedly, Tony first encountered Dahmer in a Milwaukee homosexual bar in May of 1991. Tony was at the time staying with his urban relatives during a visit.
Dahmer brought Tony back to his flat, where he drugged and strangled him to death, as reported by The Tab.
The flat where Dahmer was living later included Tony’s skull and the remains of other victims.
A missing person report for Tony was filed with the FBI two months before he was found, and his dental records only recognized him.
In 1994, while serving 16 life sentences at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, Christopher Scarver beat Dahmer to death.
Because of his lofty professional goals, Tony’s narrative touched the hearts of many viewers.
After her son’s tragic death, Shirley Hughes gave an interview. She gushed over her son’s extroversion, positivity, and willingness to help others and make friends.
Career Youth Development, a non-profit, offered counseling services to Dahmer’s victims’ loved ones.
After Tony passed away, Shirley and her family went into seclusion.
