Who Plays The Role Of A Matilda Wormwood In Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical? Matilda the Musical by Roald Dahl is now available to watch on Netflix. Alisha Weir, Lashana Lynch, and Emma Thompson all play important parts in the musical.

Weir plays Matilda Wormwood, the main character, and Thompson plays the main bad guy, Miss Agatha Trunchbull. Lynch, on the other hand, is Miss Jennifer Honey.

The movie was written and directed by Matthew Warchus, and Dennis Kelly wrote the script. Based on Dahl’s 1988 book Matilda, this is a new take on the stage musical that won Tony and Olivier Awards in 2011.

Alisha Weir played the role of Matilda Wormwood in Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical.

Matilda Wormwood, played by Alisha Weir in Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, is said to be a brilliant girl who takes risks without thinking twice. Critics have praised her performance, but working with Emma Thompson was “a little bit scary” for Weir, but not in the way you might think.

Alisha Weir also said she was nervous because Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical is her first movie, and some other actors were well-known. But they became her guides over time and taught her how to do things.

Alisha Weir also said that she only knows a little about how movies are made, so she didn’t realise that the sets would always be full of people.

The actress was born in Dublin on September 26, 2009. She was 11 or 12 years old when the movie was being made. Weir did a great job giving her character a southern English accent, which was needed for her character.

Warchus, who directed the movie, said that hundreds of kids tried out for the part, but Weir stood out because of how “brilliant” she was at listening.

Before this new movie, Alisha Weir was in Don’t Leave Home, directed by Michael Tully. In 2018, the horror thriller came out.

Alisha Weir also played Laura in five Darklands episodes (2019). She also did the voice of Primrose in the movie Two by Two: Overboard!

MVW Agency is in charge of Weir. The performing arts are something that Weir’s siblings are also very interested in. Her older sister Katie Jane graduated from college musical theatre in November 2022, and their mother, Jane, told the Irish Examiner last month that their middle sister Emma is studying film, music, and drama.

After this Netflix movie, Alisha Weir will be in Wicked Little Letters, which also stars Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley and Oscar winner Olivia Colman.
