He is one of the Spider-Man villains whose true identity is that of an ex-biochemist named Michael Morbius who, after a failed experiment to cure his blood disorder, ended up with superhuman abilities and vampiric physical traits. The first time we saw him was in 1971 fighting Spider-Man.
We already know several things about the film. First, that it will be an action-tinged horror movie. It is a refreshing perspective that also perfectly complements ‘Venom’, which has a more action-comedy tone. They have also made it clear from Sony that Morbius will not be a villain, but an antihero, that is, that he has redemptive qualities like Venom, and it would be very difficult to make him a protagonist if he were not like that. The film will also have a gothic touch quite present.
And beware: ‘Morbius’ will share the universe with ‘Venom’ and the Spider-Man of the UCM. In the post-credits scene of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ we already saw how something like this could happen, although we do not know to what extent or in what way that mixture of characters will happen.
“Morbius” stars Oscar Award winner Jared Leto, who will play Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who turned into a vampire while trying to cure himself of a rare blood disease.
