Where Is Julia Marino From? Julia Marino is from Westport, Connecticut, United States. Born on 11 September 1997, height 5ft 5 inch.
The Team USA can now boast its first medal at Beijing 2022. Julia Marino had a spectacular performance in the women’s final of the Slopestyle (Snowboard) to climb positions and win the silver that opens the medal table for the United States.
Marino had finished with 30.61 in her first appearance on Saturday afternoon but had to climb back up the pack to post an 87.68 in her second appearance dropped her from the lead before New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski-Synnott posted a 92.88 to keep the gold.
Sadowski-Synnott beat two-time Olympic gold medalist Jamie Anderson for gold at the X Games last month in Aspen, Colorado.
Marino, 24, was sixth in qualifying for the final but surprised with his second race, which gave him an 87.68, enough to consolidate his position on the podium after a crash in his third race.
Marino entered the sport with great promise, having completed the first double (a double low jump ‘Cab’) in a women’s slopestyle competition, at age 18.
He has won snowboarding medals at the X Games six times. But in his 2018 Olympic debut in Pyeongchang, he failed to win any medals.
