Olivia Rodrigo just opened up about when fans can expect her debut album after her record-breaking success of her hit song driver’s license.
Since Olivia Rodrigo dropped her new chart-topping song driver’s license fans have been wondering when the singer is going to release, new music and her debut album Olivia recently opened up about her music plans in an interview with Nylon promising that while new music is indeed in the fans of the work might have to wait a little longer before she drops an entire album.
Olivia did reveal how the success of Driver’s License has affected her life by telling the publication a week after the song’s release quote “my life has completely shifted within such a short period of time and yet everything is the same and I’m still just spending every day in my room writing songs and doing homework but it’s really incredible to have all these amazing opportunities and to be recognized by people who I’ve looked up to for years it’s been really surreal”.
Olivia also promised fans in this interview that they have a lot to look forward to in terms of the future of her music, however, she was pretty guarded about the actual details of what that means exactly but Olivia did admit that she has very clear visions for her first album as she said quote “I want it to be super versatile my dream is to have an intersection between mainstream pop-folk music and alternative rock I love the songwriting and the lyricism and the melodies of folk music I love the tonality of ultra rock obviously I’m obsessed with pop and pop artists so I’m going to try to take all of my sort of influences and make something like that we also know”
Olivia has already finished writing eight songs already and while she’s quote “happy with these new tracks the singer is not trying to rush anything at this time,” Olivia explained her songwriting press process to Nylon by saying quote “I actually feel a lot more confident in my writing abilities since Driver’s License came out”, sadly Olivia said that new music from her will not come out this year and we don’t know if this new music she was referring to is an album an ep a single or something else but no matter when a follow-up to Driver’s License will drop fans do seem confident that the singer’s next musical project will be just as big of a hit, uh what we do know is despite uh any alleged love triangles and heartbreak.
Driver’s License implied in terms of Olivia’s alleged relationship with Joshua Bassett who has allegedly left her for Sabrina carpenter well the two of them are currently on set right now filming a brand new season of high school, musical the series in which the two play on-screen lovers so that either has to be super awkward or maybe it’s helping them work through their problems.
Olivia recently talked about these details over zoom with Nylon from Salt Lake City where she is currently filming the Disney Plus series so it sounds like we will be getting new episodes of this Disney Plus show before we get another solo project from Olivia but of course, we will get new music but this is new music from Olivia’s character Nene on the show and not new Olivia Rodrigo the singer Driver’s License singer music. So Olivia has been on set in Salt Lake City since her song dropped so she hasn’t really gotten that first hand, you know getting stopped by strangers on the street yet or kind of like what we see with tick-tock stars here in Los Angeles the paparazzi chasing them because there’s really not that culture there, she had said that she got stopped at a drive-through a couple of times but of course Olivia is seeing the success of her song and how many people are loving and relating to it on social media she’s just not getting that oh my god are you Olivia Rodrigo experience yet.
