In Peacock’s ‘Vampire Academy,’ Rose is training to protect her best friend Lissa from vampires. While both are considered vampires, their social standings could not be more different.

Lissa is a member of the Moroi royal family, but Rose is a Dhampir whose entire existence depends on keeping the Moroi safe. The show emphasizes this distinction against the rising Strigoi danger.

The council of Moroi makes a decision in the fifth episode that shows how they feel about Dhampir. The commission doesn’t care whether they perish for scientific curiosity because they treat them as second-class people.

The Moroi may view this as nothing more than a game, but for Dhampirs like Rose, the repercussions of what happens in Season 5 are far from frivolous. What does it all mean?

Rose and the other novices are abandoned in the middle of nowhere during the last exam. They must protect their Moroi informant throughout the night without being discovered or killing themselves.

The new guardians think this is all a simulation and that more seasoned warriors will ambush them.

They have no idea that the council decided to release a Strigoi on them just before they set out on their quest. It’s a complete surprise to them.

Upon learning what Tatiana and the council have done, Victor does what he can to stop the experiment.

The Queen, however, is aware of what is going on and has no plans to cause discord among the council members. Upon learning this, Dimitri and Lissa decide to handle the situation independently.

Lissa joins forces with Christian, Mia, Mason, and Jesse while Dimitri tries to locate Rose and the others. When they finally get there, it’s too late to save anyone’s life.
