Top Gun 2 Release Date UK 2022: From June 12, 2019, until today, many things have happened. But one of those that should have happened and we are still waiting for is the premiere of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, the sequel starring Tom Cruise 35 years later and that now, with its new trailer, promises that, this time, it will be screened in theaters shortly after its (surprising) stint at the Cannes festival.
Top Gun: Maverick will be set more than 30 years after the events of the original film and will follow a Maverick who returns to the Air Force as an instructor.
However, things will not be easy for Cruise’s character and while figures like Goose’s son will recriminate his past, this time a complex mission will put the pilot to the test.

Beyond Cruise and Teller, Top Gun Maverick features a cast led by Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis with Ed Harris and Val Kilmer.

Top Gun: Maverick, following multiple delays and schedule changes from Paramount Pictures, will take off in theaters around the world on May 27.
‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Director
The death of ‘Top Gun’ director Tony Scott in August 2012 stalled any progress on the project, leading to speculation that the film would ultimately never be made. Francis Ford Coppola was first mentioned as a possible director, but Cruise confirmed that Joseph Kosinski was taking the reins on the project in 2017.
Kosinski (‘Tron: Legacy’, ‘Oblivion’ and ‘Heroes in Hell’) will work from the story written by Peter Craig and Justin Marks and with an adapted screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie, Eric Warren Singer, and Ehren Kruger. There has been a lot of talk about whether the filmmaker will be able to bring the film up to the level of Tony Scott, given the unique style the late director brought to it in 2012.
