A masked gunman opens fire on Robyn McCall in the first section of the official teaser for the next episode of The Equalizer, titled “Where There’s Smoke.”

Afterward, both Aunt Vi and the viewers are left perplexed.

After last week’s episode, which centered on a looming threat over the vigilante, it’s clear that Robyn has gotten into another precarious predicament.

Not only is Robyn’s job not without risk, but the producers have a lot of guts to keep the aftermath of her kidnapping front and center in the next episode.

Though it goes against the grain of most series, The Equalizer intends to use this about Robyn McCall’s closest relatives, Aunt Vi and Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes), to lend an emotional dimension to their stories.

CBS has released the synopsis for the next episode, and it states that the two will continue to be tormented by McCall’s kidnapping even as the team dives headfirst into another crucial case.
