Where Was Sam First Image Was Published?

The first images of Sam were published on the site of a Brazilian design agency, LightHouse. They represent a young brunette woman who sports a jacket embroidered “Samsung Galaxy”. According to the site, the drawings represent Sam, “Samsung’s virtual assistant.”

The design studio has been commissioned by Cheil Agency, a subsidiary of Samsung, to redesign this “Sam”, a chatbot used in Brazil since October 2020. This artificial intelligence “ answers consumers’ questions about products, services, promotions, payment methods, and order tracking ”explains the Brazilian site page. But this service is unknown in the rest of the world, Internet users have interpreted it as an announcement of the successor to Bixby, the virtual assistant, voice, developed by Samsung Electronics.

Sam will not be the replacement for Bixby – according to Samsung -; Sam will act like a chatbot.

Samsung explains that Bixby continues to be installed on all of its devices for sale; while Sam is the chatbot of the Samsung Customer Service team.
