Blue Lock Season 2: S1 Part 2 Release Date: Season 2 of Blue Lock hasn’t been announced yet, but fans can breathe a sigh of relief because season 1 part 2 will be out in a few weeks.
Even though the last few weeks of an anime’s airing schedule can be inspiring for fans, it can also be a time of sadness and worry about the show’s future.
We’ll all turn our attention to the future almost as soon as the last episode ends, and the global community of fans of the Blue Lock series can breathe a sigh of relief knowing there’s more to come.
Before the premiere of episode 12, Blue Lock hadn’t been picked up for a second season. However, season 1 is still ongoing, and a second cour will start in the New Year.
Blue Lock Season 2: S1 Part 2 Release Date
Before Blue Lock’s premiere in October, a Japanese news site called Comic Natalie said that the anime show would be shown over two courses, with a total of 24 episodes in season 1.
A cour is a schedule of shows for three months: winter (January–March), spring (April–June), summer (July–September), and fall (October–December) (October – December). This means that the first season of Blue Lock will be shown in two separate blocks of three months, beginning in October 2022 and ending in March 2023.
Since then, the official Blu-Ray DVD listings for Blue Lock season 1 have also confirmed this. In Japan, there will be four volumes with six anime episodes each in 2023. Volume 1 will come out in January, Volume 2 in March, Volume 3 in May, and Volume 4 in July.
The official anime website or social media pages have not yet said when season 1 part two will come out. Several scheduling sites, however, agree that the second part of Blue Lock will start with episode 13 on Saturday, January 7.
Fans can expect that the Blue Lock anime will keep its time slot in Japan and, as a result, its time slot on Crunchyroll for streaming outside of Japan.
Renewal Status Blue Lock Season 2
As was already said, Blue Lock has yet to be officially picked up for a second season. Even though season 1 is ongoing, fans can still expect the anime to come back for another episode after episode 24 breaths of air.
This is because anime renewals usually depend on the availability of source material from the original light novel or manga series and the franchise’s popularity as a whole. Luckily, Blue Lock has plenty of both.
If part two keeps going at the same pace, Episode 24 (which will come out in March 2023) should cover up to volume 11 of the original Blue Lock manga series.
As of December 2022, 22 volumes have been published in Japan, which is good news. This means that once the first season of Blue Locks is over, there will probably be enough material from the manga to start making season 2 immediately.
Studio 8bit should make a second season of the Blue Lock anime if it does well enough. This is more good news. Blue Lock is getting great reviews before the end of the first part. It has an 8.26/10 on MyAnimeList, an 8.5/10 on IMDB, an 80% on Anilist, and a 4.3/5 on Anime-Planet.
Not only does this make Blue Lock the eighth highest-rated Fall anime on MAL, but it also makes it the third highest-rated Studio 8bit show of all time, just behind TenSura.
Lastly, the anime boosted manga sales, which was helped by the fact that the FIFA World Cup was on TV. There are now more than 12 million copies out there.
It should only be before Blue Lock is picked up for a second season. However, we might know in March 2023, when the season 1 finale airs.
