NCIS Season 19 Episode 20 Short Recap

Car wash fatality Navy Reservist John Murphy died. Murphy drove a slot-machine-filled van in uniform. NCIS probed. Murphy wasn’t shot or stabbed, they learned first. Blood spewed on him. Poisoned. Murphy was deeply in debt, the team discovered. She died. Widower. He was sacked as a journalist stateside. His employment as a reservist was his main source of income, thus the squad suspected he was slain for the gambling machines.

Murphy’s vehicle was full of them. No casino employed him. He didn’t know anyone in a casino, so the crew looked at slot machines. Machines reported stolen. Murphy stole Navy equipment. Navy bases have casinos for troop entertainment. Kasie explained why Murphy stole the machines. Kasie examined Murphy’s machinery and found alterations. Murphy tweaked them to suck money.

Murphy wants to put some money in an offshore hidden bank account. He wanted a cent from every dollar inserted. Daily, millions are poured into these machines. Murphy would have been rich if he had been able to restore the machines, but his death wasn’t part of the plan. One-person plan. Murphy couldn’t hack the slots by himself. He needed a companion. A hacker. The crew investigated while short-staffed.

Knight accompanied Palmer. Palmer drove organs between hospitals. Knight volunteered for the two-person task. She owed him after misinterpreting his coffee request as a group activity. Palmer invited her to coffee when it wasn’t. Who knows if he was speaking the truth when he stated he needed time to catch up. The transplant issue arose. Knight consented because she believed they could converse in the car, but they never did.

The third individual was obnoxious. Someone from the hospital had to go with them and was really loud and irritating. If they hadn’t crashed, he would have chatted to the transplant recipient the whole trip. The road was spiked. The automobile crashed. Dr. Scott was murdered as he tried to escape the automobile after the collision before they could check on each other. Knight and Palmer moved smartly.

They shot the gunman. Which offered them tunnel cover. From safety, they saw armed men approaching the automobile. Knight and Palmer were unaware of their pursuers. Staying put wasn’t safe, they realized. They entered the woodland. They left. Knight knocked a man who followed them during a lunch break. After Palmer was shot in the leg, she seized his gun. Knight carried Jimmy to a cabin. Knight dug into his leg to remove the bullet.

Palmer spoke then. He asked why she was avoiding him. They were pals. She took him to a cousin’s wedding, and they had a terrific time. It ended. After the wedding, Knight avoided him. Palmer had to inquire what occurred when she turned a one-on-one coffee date into a group event. She’s his. Maybe a buddy. Knight’s sole response was that he was a good buddy. She didn’t want to give that up.

Knight grabbed a villain’s walkie-talkie. Knight left Palmer at the cabin as she pulled out the people with a rifle after hearing them mention a nearby cabin. As the squad searched for them, this happened. Ana Brooks was the suspect. Murphy wasn’t the reason she messed with gambling machines. Murphy was only reporting. Probably to obtain another journalism job. Murphy reported on Brooks’s whistleblowing. She gathered evidence against Vega Gaming.

Brooks was ill. Hepatectomy. Brooks’s witness tried to stop her from obtaining a new liver, but he couldn’t murder her since she was in protective custody. Only the liver might be targeted. When destroyed, Brooks dies. After Knight and Palmer missed the hospital, the squad began seeking them.

Two escaped and were found. Palmer wouldn’t sacrifice Knight to rescue himself. He returned. He helped save her. Evildoers were slain. They spared the liver, so Brooks got it. She’ll reach trial.

Knight eventually met Palmer for coffee.
