Luther: The Fallen Sun: John Luther is back on the case, and it could be a wild ride for him. The first trailer for Luther: The Fallen Sun, an original movie from Netflix that is the sequel to the popular BBC series, has been released, and it looks like the action will be intense.

Idris Elba became famous for his role as John Luther on this show, which ran from 2010 to 2019 over a total of five seasons. Luther was a DCI for the London police, but he had to fight his own darkness. Among other things, he fell in love with murderess Alice Morgan (Ruth Wilson).

In the last episode, which aired in 2019, Luther broke the law to kill a murderer and was arrested for it. The pandemic and Idris Elba’s busy schedule put off plans for a follow-up series. But now, a much-anticipated sequel to Luther’s adventures has been made by Netflix. It was written by series writer Neil Cross and directed by Jamie Payne.

In the trailer, Luther gets out of prison when there is a riot. Martin Schenk, his ex-boss, is trying to catch him with the help of a tough cop, Odette Raine (Cynthia Erivo). On the other hand, Luther wants to stop David Robey, played by Andy Serkis, a millionaire serial killer who uses his cyber skills to make London a mess.

So, Luther is looking for Robey while also being hunted by the police and, soon, most of the criminals in London. The trailer shows a lot of action, and Elba says he’s ready to show that Luther is still doing what it takes to catch the bad guys, which could lead to a second movie.

On February 24, Luther: The Fallen Sun opens in a few theatres, and on March 10, it comes out on Netflix.
