Leslie Jordan And Dolly Parton Related: On Thursday’s Call Me Kat, country star Dolly Parton showed up out of the blue to pay tribute to the late Leslie Jordan. It was a very touching moment.
Phil was the head baker at Kat’s (Mayim Bialik) café, and Jordan played him. Jordan died in a car accident at age 67 in late October. He was one of the main stars of the Fox show, which stopped making new episodes after his death so that the cast and crew could grieve.
Parton dedicated her eulogy to Jordan, who she had just mentioned by name after singing a verse from their song “Where the Soul Never Dies,” which appeared on Jordan’s 2021 album Company’s Comin’.
I know usually at a memorial, people talk about somebody. Well, I’m going to talk to you. I Will Always Love You. Because there is that place on the other side, and I’m certainly going to see you there, little brother. You left a lot of people here with a lot of precious, precious memories. Everybody loved you, but I doubt many of them loved you more than I did.
