Episode 9 of Law & Order Season 22 is titled “The System,” It serves as a dramatic midseason finale that casts questions on the loyalty of both Shaw and Price. Detective Shaw (Mehcad Brooks) and Executive ADA Price (Hugh Dancy) question their roles in the judicial system after a murder suspect escapes jail after waiting months to be seen in court, leading to a hostage situation. Shaw’s actions as the arresting officer are called into doubt, and Price’s faith in the justice system is shaken.
