Is There A Verdict In The Depp Heard Trial? Regarding the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard cases, when can we anticipate a verdict being handed down?
On April 11, opening statements were made in the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and the trial lasted for six weeks.
The legal dispute between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp has reached its conclusion, and the jury in the case is currently deliberating in Fairfax, Virginia, before revealing their decision.
Amber Heard, who was previously married to Mr. Depp, published an opinion piece in 2018 for The Washington Post in which she claimed to have been the victim of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of Mr. Depp.
Although she did not identify Mr. Depp, his team claimed that the actor was blackballed from several movie roles due to the claims.
Ms. Heard filed a countersuit against Mr. Depp, asking for compensation of one hundred million dollars, and accused him of leading a “smear campaign” against her.
When Did The Trial Begin?
It all started on April 11, when both Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard portrayed a terrifying image of the rocky relationship they had been involved in. Both of the performers leveled accusations of assault against the other.
On May 27, the attorneys presented their final statements, and then the case was deliberated upon by a jury of seven. The jury met for the first time to reflect in full for the first time on Tuesday (May 31).
Is There A Verdict In The Depp Heard Trial?
The jury is now deliberating to make a decision. If the jury members conclude that Ms. Heard did, in fact, slander Mr. Depp, they will ask that she pay the actor $50 million in damages. His legal team will celebrate such an achievement regardless of whether or not Mr. Depp receives the entire sum.
If the judge rules in favor of Ms. Heard, Mr. Depp will be required to give her a sum equal to one hundred million dollars. The sum may also be changed under the conclusion reached by the jury.
The trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard lasted for six weeks, and now everyone’s attention is focused on the decision. However, it is hard to guess how much longer the jury will continue to deliberate.
Mr. Depp, on the other hand, is now in the United Kingdom, where he just gave a performance at a rock event. According to the BBC, the jury must reach a unanimous judgment to issue a Verdict, which might happen at any time.
