Lucille Desiree Ball was one of the most important female comedians in the United States, especially thanks to her successful work on radio and television.

Born on August 6, 1911, in Celeron, New York State, Lucille began acting in theater productions at a very young age. Moved to New York City, she studied Acting at the John Murray Anderson School of Drama and worked as a model and showgirl.

In 1929, young Lucy began working as a model and later began her career on Broadway by introducing herself as Dianne Belmont.

In the early 1930s, Lucy began acting in various small radio roles, due to her being hired by RKO Radio Pictures. In 1940 she was known as the Queen of Bs, since she had to her credit, a series of roles in class B movies.

She was 40 years old when she gave birth to his first child Lucie in 1951.

Her Broadway debut was with the operetta Rio Rita and in Hollywood in ” Goldwyn Girl .”

He specialized in sitcoms and rarely appeared in dramatic roles: Shrouded in Shadow ( Henry Hathaway, 1946); The poet killer (D. Sirk, 1947), Easy Living (J. Tourneur 1949).

He also made two films with Lloyd Bacon: Miss Grant Takes Richmond (1949) and Sally’s troubles (1950).

Lucille Ball left the cinema perhaps because she never became a star of the first magnitude, although she had plenty of talent and beauty to achieve it.

Since 1951 she has starred in production by her husband Desi Arnaz, the television show: I Love Lucy. The success achieved was such that it remained in production for nine years. It was followed by ” The Lucy Show .”
