President John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated on November 22, 1963, while riding in a motorcade through Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was struck by two bullets fired from a nearby building, one hitting him in the neck and the other in the head. The gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, was later arrested but was killed by nightclub owner Jack Ruby before he could stand trial. Kennedy’s assassination remains one of the most infamous events in American history.
