George Herman “Babe” Ruth Jr., one of the greatest baseball players of all time, died on August 16, 1948, at the age of 53. In late 1946, Ruth was diagnosed with cancer, which had spread throughout his body. Despite receiving treatment, his health rapidly deteriorated, and he passed away from the disease, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in the world of sports.
