Home and Away Episode 7987 Spoiler (7th March 2023)

Home and Away Episode 7987: This week on the Australian show Home and Away, Dean and Ziggy leave Summer Bay and move to Queensland so they can be closer to Jai and Amber.

Just a few days after Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) left, Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor), Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman), and their newborn daughter Izzy move to Queensland.

Ziggy and Dean have been parents for just over a month, and life for the family was slowly getting back to normal. Dean can trust newcomer Mali Hudson (Kyle Shilling) to take care of the board shop, and Ziggy was able to get past her initial struggles to bond with baby Izzy.

Home and Away Episode 7987 Spoiler (7th March 2023)

They were looking forward to Izzy meeting her 8-year-old brother Jai (River Jarvis) when Jai’s mother Amber told Dean some shocking news last week (Maddy Jevic). She was offered her dream job in Northern Queensland, which is 21 hours away by car, and she was moving there in just one week.

Dean was very upset about what happened and worried that he would only see Jai on school breaks. Dean didn’t find out about his son until two and a half years ago. Since he’s not even on the birth certificate, he knows he can’t argue with Amber’s decision.

This week, Ziggy makes a bold idea by suggesting that they all move to Queensland. He says that they don’t have to stay in Summer Bay to be a family, and that they could be a family anywhere. He’ll be close to Jai, and Izzy can get to know her older brother as she grows up.

As luck would have it, Ziggy’s sister Coco (Anna Cocquerel), who moved to Cairns in 2019, also lives in North Queensland, so that’s another plus…

Dean is thrilled by Ziggy’s idea, and he hugs her right away. Soon, the word gets out to the rest of the town.

Dean will have to move away from his half-sister Mackenzie, which is bad news (Emily Weir). The latest bad news for Mac is that her boyfriend Gabe (Akos Armont) has cancer. She found out about this last week. After being engaged for more than four years, the two just got back together. Gabe just found out that not only has his non-Hodgkins lymphoma come back, but it has also spread to his bones.

Gabe knows that things don’t look good because chemotherapy has almost no chance of making a difference, but he has agreed to go through with the treatment so he can spend a little more time with Mac before the end.

Dean told Mac that he would always be there for her, but now it’s hard for him to face his sister and tell her that he’s moving away.

In the end, Ziggy has to tell her the news. Mac is sad to lose her only family in the bay, but she understands why they need to leave and gives them her blessing.

Dean’s mother, Karen (Georgia Adamson), must also be thought of, since both of her grandchildren are leaving. How Dean will tell her the news is still unknown, but she can turn to her fiance Brett (Aaron Glenane), who is happy for her.

We can only hope that Karen comes back to Summer Bay every so often to annoy her friend/enemy John (Shane Withington)… Unless she follows Dean to Queensland, which is unlikely.

Irene (Lynne McGranger), Justin (James Stewart), Mac, Gabe, and Mali all meet outside the surf club, where Dean and Ziggy have parked to leave town. This seems to be a Summer Bay tradition.

When Dean gives Mali the keys to the board shop, presumably with owner Ben’s permission, Mali promises to make Dean proud.

Mali has already shown how much he cares about the job by moving away from his family to start working there. Before they leave, Mali will give Dean and Ziggy the framed newspaper clipping that has been sitting proudly in the board shop since they won the Summer Bay Surf Comp.

Ziggy has changed a lot since she moved to the bay 5 and a half years ago as the angsty daughter of Ben (Rohan Nichol) and Maggie (Kestie Morassi). The family moved to the bay in 2017 with their younger daughter Coco. They were the first nuclear family to appear on the show in over 17 years.

Dean showed up in the first week of 2018 as part of a group of River Boys that Ash (George Mason) had asked to find Robbo, who was on the run (Jake Ryan). Dean has always made it clear that he will always be a River Boy, but he has also been able to settle down and become (most of the time) a respected member of the community.
