So, how does one get in on this game of luck and fortune? Here’s a quick guide on how to play Powerball. Tickets are available for $2 per play. Players must choose five numbers from one to 69 for the white balls, and one number from one to 26 for the red Powerball 🎱. Alternatively, you can opt for random numbers if you’re not feeling particularly choosy!
To clinch the jackpot, all five white ball numbers and the red Powerball number must match the draw. But don’t fret if you’re not the jackpot winner! Powerball offers eight other ways to win, based on the number of balls matched in non-jackpot tiers, with prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million 💵.
Feeling lucky? Pay an extra $1 to participate in the “Powerplay” feature. This increases non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times. Just keep in mind that the 10X Powerplay only applies to jackpots worth $150 million or less and the second-tier “Match 5” prize is capped at $2 million when using Powerplay.
For some jurisdictions, an added feature called “Double Play” is added for an extra $1 per play. This gives players another chance to match their numbers post-drawing 🎲.
