Dead Island 2 has been one of the many games that over the years have gone through chaotic development since it began in 2012. Although what has differentiated it from the rest of the projects, it has been the different developers that have been in charge of said title. First, it was Techland, then Yager continued with the work, Sumo Digital joined the party and now Dambuster Studios (Deep Silver) is in charge, which seems to be the definitive one.
Dead Island 2 Release Date
As reported by VGC, a presenter asked during a round of questions and answers at an Embracer Group earnings presentation if Dead Island 2 will be released during the company’s next fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2023.
What can we expect from a title that has suffered so many delays and has been modified so many times by different developers? The antecedents in this type of project are not very positive, although it is early to judge.
Dead Island 2 Developed By Dambuster Studios
The creation of Dead Island 2 has passed through several hands since Yager, known above all for his excellent work on Spec Ops: The Line, distanced himself from the development: Sumo Digital, responsible for games like Sackboy: A Big Adventure or Crackdown 3, they took over from their original developers, but three years after that change, in 2019, there was once again a replacement in production, which passed into the hands of Dambuster Studios, creators of Homefront: The Revolution who had previously worked on other iconic games like TimeSplitters (when they were called Free Radical Design) or in the sagaCrysis as a supporting studio for the five years that were renamed Crytek UK.
