Cobra Kai Season 5 Episode 2 Recap (Mole)

Cobra Kai Season 5 Episode 2 Recap: The action of the second episode of the fifth season of Cobra Kai begins in Okinawa in 1972. A younger version of Sato instills a spirit of endurance in his students while mocking Chozen for attempting to adopt a more relaxed approach to his training. It is a beautiful moment, and it works well to juxtapose the activity that is currently going on with the presentation of Chozen as one of the new senseis in the Cobra Kai dojo.

Cobra Kai Season 5 Episode 2 Recap (Mole)

Chozen chooses to interrogate Tory right away to instil a sense of dignity in her. A person’s honor is not something that can be taken away from them. He says, “Only you can steal your own glory.”

This also appears effective because Chozen employs Tang Soo Do on the mannequin on purpose when Silver is around—a surefire way to earn Terry’s favor.

Chozen is invited to dine with Terry Silver, where Silver shows off his collection of antique swords.

Terry freely confesses that he has a grander objective in mind than the valley alone.

He has vague plans to associate the name “Cobra Kai” with “karate,” though specifics are sketchy at best.

Tory confronts Silver after the session about bribing the referee. Silver, who justifies his actions by comparing them to a desperate man stealing food, employs this analogy in private.

If Tory stops doing this and returns to the dojo the next day, he vows to make her the dojo’s future. She appears to be struggling with her feelings.

Miguel, meantime, approaches Hector with the idea of being there for his father, but Hector demurs, saying he neither has children nor is familiar with Miguel.

It just makes sense that Miguel would call his mom and tell her she’s incorrect about him, but instead, he just ignores her.

Robby and Johnny follow a lead to Mexico in search of Miguel, but the information ends in disaster when Miguel mistakes a police officer’s order to move his van for a barterer. To get it back, the two get into a chilli cook-off.

Robby triumphs, largely thanks to some cunning deceit, and he and his companion eventually track down Miguel.

The truth is that he’s at a mixed martial arts event, but Hector hears that the FBI is lurking around.

Things aren’t what they seem, though, because the FBI t-shirts Robby and Johnny are wearing are actually novelty items Johnny picked up in the previous episode.

However, Hector’s attitude toward Miguel shifts when he learns that the FBI is involved.

They hide out, and Miguel finally gets to meet the honest Hector. He does confirm that there was an incident in Ecuador. It looks like we have “success” on our hands.

Even if some people get harmed or lost (like Carmen) in the course of commerce, Hector says he has no remorse because that is the price of doing business.

Miguel runs away after finally seeing the real side of his father. As he sobs into the phone to Carmen, apologizing, Johnny arrives to take the youngster home.

Now the storyline is ended, we can return to the dojo and see Terry out Chozen to the other senseis. Chozen is hemmed in by the others and must therefore establish his worth.

However, Chozen is not trifled with, as he manages to wipe the floor with them. As a result, Chozen draws a clear boundary with Terry, telling him he must no longer associate with Daniel and his family.
