All legacy Blue badges will be removed soon: Elon Musk has said again that all legacy Blue badges will be taken away soon. This is because Twitter Blue with verification is now available in India for as little as Rs 650 per month.
Musk has said many times that the company will get rid of all Blue checks as it starts charging users to make money off of its platform.
The Twitter CEO said earlier this month that all legacy verified accounts will lose their Blue badges soon because they are “deeply corrupted.”
In India, the microblogging platform will charge Rs 650 per month for its Blue service with verification on the web and Rs 900 on Android and iOS mobile devices.
In India, Musk’s Twitter also has a discounted annual plan that costs Rs 6,800 per year, which is about Rs 566.67 per month.
Twitter Blue is now available in 15 countries around the world, including the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, Saudi Arabia, and India.
Twitter has also started letting US Blue users write tweets with up to 4,000 characters.
The home timelines of Twitter Blue users will also have 50% fewer ads.
Twitter has told businesses that if they want to keep their gold badges, they have to pay $1,000 per month. Brands and organisations that don’t pay the money will lose their checkmarks.
