Justin Roiland is best known for co-creating the Adult Swim comedy show Rick and Morty. He is being charged with felony domestic violence for an incident that happened in 2020. NBC News said that Roiland showed up at the Orange County Court for a pre-trial hearing.
The Orange County District Attorney will file a criminal complaint against him in May of 2020. This will lead to his trial. The 42-year-old had pleaded not guilty at the time.
NBC looked at the criminal complaint in the case and found that Roiland has been charged with one count of felony domestic battery leading to bodily injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, fraud, or deceit.
Jane Doe, a woman Roiland was seeing at the time, is said to be the victim. The crime happened on January 19, 2020.
