When Does Taylor Swift New Song Release
Taylor Swift is gearing up to release the next batch of surprises up her sleeve as she just announced the first of SIX never-before-heard tracks off of Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and we’ve got the details on who is featured!
The early 2000s high schooler in me is legitimately busting at the seams knowing that we’ll have our hands on a revamped version of the soundtrack to sophomore year in just a few short weeks.
Whether they were years we’ve been hoping to forget or reminisce on, Taylor was right there with us through it ALL, and the girl just continues to come through even years later.
Earlier this morning Taylor took to Instagram to share a brand new update with fans alongside a blurry photo of herself looking pensive while sipping on a drink in a bar.
Taylor announced the first of six ‘From The Vault’ songs off of Fearless 2.0 that have never been heard before, called “You All Over Me”, additionally telling fans QUOTE, “One thing I’ve been loving about these From The Vault songs is that they’ve never been heard, so I can experiment, play, and even include some of my favorite artists. I’m really excited to have @marenmorris singing background vocals on this song!”
While this is the first time Taylor and country music star Maren Morris are collaborating on a song, the two DID share the stage together to perform Maren and Zedd’s smash hit single “The Middle” during her Reputation Stadium Tour back in 2018.
No, but really, I actually AM losing my mind over this new announcement… but in addition to Maren’s vocals, the new track was also produced by Taylor’s right-hand man Aaron Dessner, and co-written with country music songwriter Scooter Carusoe.
So based on the Fearless era AND the fact that “You All Over Me” has been graced with the presence of many country music names, it seems Taylor might be going back to her country roots once again.
Alright so right about now, Swifties are probably thinking, ‘OLD NEWS’ considering the song was technically unofficially leaked back in 2017 as an unreleased track written in 2011.
Some of the lyrics that have been shared online over the years read QUOTE, “God knows, too long, you wasted my time / Lost tears, swore that I’d get out of here / But no amount of freedom gets you clean; I still got you all over me.”
Considering the year of the song’s leak, fans are convinced it was written during the Red era, which was arguably Taylor’s most vulnerable and heartbreaking era of music to date.
However, knowing the inner-workings of Taylor’s brilliant mind, we’re not ruling out the possibility of new lyrics, an entirely switched-up tone, and a confirmed additional melody, courtesy of Maren Morris, so we truly don’t know what we’re in store for just yet.
“You All Over Me” is the second release from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) just after “Love Story”, but it seems the 1989 era could quickly follow on the horizon as fans also got a taste of Taylor’s hit “Wildest
Dreams” was featured in the Spirit Untamed trailer.
So if you thought Taylor was done releasing new music following two surprise full-length albums and an entire catalog of old releases, you’re in for the awakening of a lifetime come to the release of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) on April 9th.
