Joe and Jill Biden were married in 1977, five years after a first tragedy when the senator’s first wife and their young daughter were killed in a car accident.
Still, children, their two surviving sons, Beau and Hunter, had suggested to their father to marry Jill, recalls Joe Biden in his memoirs, where he wrote: “She gave me back my life.”
She is a writer, teacher and at some point, she even considered a career in the modeling world!

Biden having first graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware in 1975, went on to study for two Master’s degrees, one from West Chester University and one from Villanova University. At the age of 55, he earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in educational leadership from the University of Delaware.
Jill and Joe have been married for 43 years, but she made Joe propose to her five times before saying yes. Jill, born in New Jersey, married Bill Stevenson, a former college football player, in 1970, but they divorced in 1975 when she was only 24 years old. Jill and Joe met after Joe’s brother Frank set them up on a blind date in 1975, but it wasn’t love at first sight. ‘The guys she had dated had bell bottoms and clogs.’
