An unpublished book by Henry Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman, Wendell & Wild is the basis for the upcoming American stop-motion animated dark fantasy comedy horror film directed by Selick and written by Peele (who also serves as producer).
It features Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele in the lead roles, with supporting performances from Lyric Ross, Angela Bassett, James Hong, Sam Zelaya, Tamara Smart, Seema Virdi, Ramona Young, and Ving Rhames. Selick’s last full-length picture was 2009’s Coraline. Thus this one is his return to the genre.
Wendell & Wild Release Date
On September 11, 2022, Wendell & Wild will have its global premiere at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival. The film will open in limited theaters on October 21, 2022, and become available on Netflix to stream the following day, October 28.
