The plot centers on the Butler family, who reside in a dangerous part of Los Angeles, and their new next-door neighbors, a white family from the Midwest. The main character is Calvin Butler, portrayed by Cedric, the Entertainer.
Sheaun McKinney, who plays Malcolm Butler, Beth Behrs, who plays Gemma Johnson, Max Greenfield, who plays Dave Johnson; and Tichina Arnold, who plays Tina Butler, all return.
In the fifth season of the hit CBS sitcom, the two men continue to tell the story of two men who share absolutely nothing in common but who, despite their differences, manage to become excellent neighbors and even better friends.
Many misunderstandings and shenanigans arise as the two families work to communicate and resolve issues that affect one or both of them.
The Neighborhood Season 5 Episode 5 Preview
Episode 4 of Season 5 of The Neighborhood aired on October 10, 2022, and is titled “Welcome to the New Deal.”
As we saw in this episode, Dave provides his assistance to the hardworking Calvin while also logging the hours necessary to become licensed as a therapist at the VA.
Since Calvin was too exhausted, to tell the truth to his wife, he made up a story. Tina tells Gemma she wants to make a career shift as an added bonus. Gemma tells Grover that he was not invited to a friend’s party. I feel terrible for her!
Malcolm, meantime, sees his ex-girlfriend at a Dodgers game. In any case, that wasn’t the last we saw of him. During a quiet moment with his dad, Malcolm is interrupted by his ex-girlfriend.
