The Last of Us Season 1 Episode 5: There won’t be a new episode of The Last of Us on Sunday. HBO said before Sunday’s episode 4, “Please Hold My Hand,” that episode 5 of The Last of Us will be available to stream earlier in the week. This is to avoid competing with Super Bowl LVII. While the Chiefs take on the Eagles, Kathleen (Melanie Lynskey) and her rebel troops will have home-field advantage in the Kansas City QZ, where Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) are caught in the heart of a city-wide manhunt for brothers Henry (Lamar Johnson) and Sam (Samuel L. Jackson) (Keivonn Wood).

The fifth episode of The Last of Us will air at its usual time on HBO on Sunday, February 10 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The Last of Us Season 1 Episode 5 Preview
In the trailer for The Last of Us episode 5, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) are back in the ruins of Kansas City, where they were at the end of episode 4 when they were held at gunpoint. Henry (Lamar Johnson) and Sam (Keivonn Montreal Woodard), Henry’s deaf younger brother, are the bad guys. They are hiding from a group of hunters, who are part of the new character Kathleen’s (Melanie Lynskey) revolutionary movement. She tells her followers, “Everything is going great,” while showing us pictures of her foot soldiers on a manhunt. “Haven’t you heard? Kansas City is free.” The show seems to be taking another big step away from the 2013 video game by giving the bad guys some time to develop their personalities before the final showdown. Kathleen is looking for Henry for reasons that aren’t entirely clear, but it seems likely that Henry had something to do with her brother’s death.
“He told me to forgive, but where is the justice in that?” she says in a voiceover as our main characters join forces with Sam and Henry to fight the hunters. Like in the game, the hunters in the HBO show got rid of FEDRA’s military control over their quarantine zone. So, the only outside problem they have to worry about is the infected digging their way into the city. And since the gunfights and explosions are making a lot of noise and soundwaves, the infected’s network will respond in the same way. In the trailer for the fifth episode of “The Last of Us,” Ellie is still holding the gun she stole from Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank’s (Murray Bartlett) house and used to save Joel’s life. Joel now seems to be okay with her having the gun.
