Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 5 Release Date, Cast (Final Desmithtation)

Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 5: Season 6 of Rick and Morty has been airing for the past month, and the premiere trailer for Episode 5 has given viewers their first look at what’s to come.

After the events of season five, Rick is unable to readily hop between dimensions, forcing him to spend more time with the Smith Family in season six. This has allowed the show to focus on different elements of each family member.

The dynamic between Rick and each of them has also shifted.

The most striking example is how Rick interacts with Jerry in the sixth season; he uses a much softer nudge than in the first five seasons.

Season 6’s teases have hinted at a new dynamic between Rick and Jerry, and it looks like next week’s episode will put that to the test by having Jerry act as Rick’s “helper.”

Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 5 Preview

It’s not apparent why Rick and Jerry are invading a faceless Fortune 500 corporation in the “Final Desmithtation” teaser.

As with previous episodes, this likely conceals the episode’s more massive twist until it airs, but it does tie into previous trailers that showed a Jerry dressed as Morty working with Rick (and revealed that Rick had fashioned his body with all sorts of upgraded technology, such as the scoping eye he uses at the beginning of the episode preview).

It won’t be long now, though, as the debut of “Final Desmithtation” is set for Sunday, October 2 at 11:00 PM EST on Adult Swim.

If you don’t have a cable subscription, you can watch the first five seasons of Rick and Morty on Hulu and HBO Max, and the first five episodes of Season 6 are available on Adult Swim’s website.
