TV series Maid. The story of a single mother based on the acclaimed book by writer Stephanie Land under the long title “Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive” pits of poverty against the will of all ill-wishers who humiliate their world. Netflix’s uplifting survival story is based on a true story from a bestselling author who shares her life experiences.

Thus begins a journey full of challenges for this single mom. Where she will have as his first client the wealthy Regina (Anika Noni Rose), a woman who is clearly not happy. At the same time, she is looking for a home to settle with his little daughter.

Thanks to the advice of the social worker, who clarifies that violence by a partner is not only physical but also psychological, Alex agrees to file a complaint with the police that allows him to obtain housing in a center for mothers who suffer from abuse.

Here he meets his administrator, Denise (BJ Harrison), who will be key in the instances that are to come on his path to independence and survival. The one that will include the legal claim that Sean files against him for the full tenure of Maddy.

A journey in which new and old acquaintances will meet. Like another of the mothers in the shelter, a former colleague named Nate (Raymond Ablack), who was and is very interested in her, and her father Hank (Billy Burke), from whom she separated as a child.
