Minions The Rise Of Gru OTT Release Date: The Rise of Gru is a 2022 American computer-animated comedy film created by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures.

It’s the fifth film in the Despicable Me series and the sequel to the spinoff prequel Minions (2015).

Kyle Balda directed, Brad Ableson and Jonathan del Val co-directed, Chris Meledandri, Janet Healy, and Chris Renaud produced, and Matthew Fogel wrote the script based on a screenplay by Brian Lynch and Fogel.

Taraji P. Henson, Michelle Yeoh, RZA, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, and Alan Arkin star. Steve Carell reprises his role as Gru, and Pierre Coffin voices the Minions.

The film follows 11-year-old Gru as he plots to join the supervillains’ ranks with his Minions’ help and ultimately faces off against the Vicious 6.

Minions The Rise Of Gru OTT Release Date

On August 2, 2022, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment made Minions: The Rise of Gru available for digital download, with physical media releases on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD coming on September 6, 2022.

Within four months of its theatrical premiere, the picture will become available on NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service as part of an 18-month agreement.

After that, the film would play on Netflix for ten months before returning to Peacock for the final four.

Amazon Prime Video and Vudu are now the only places to rent or buy Minions: Rise of Gru online.

The world premiere of Minions: The Rise of Gru took place on June 25, 2022, at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California, following its world premiere at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on June 13.
