How Many People Did Anthony Sowell Kill and What He Do? The “Cleveland Strangler,” Anthony Sowell, is said to have s*xually abused and murdered eleven women between 2007 and 2009.
Two days before Halloween in 2009, the victims’ bodies were discovered on his Mount Pleasant farm. A terrifying find was made by authorities when looking into a sexual assault complaint.
Sowell specifically preyed upon black women who were economically or socially disadvantaged, inviting them to his home with drugs and alcohol before raping and killing them.
The other ladies who escaped the house of horrors were instrumental in his arrest and conviction.
Now, many years later, the story of the Cleveland Strangler, whose murdering spree was a nightmare come to reality, will be revisited on Living With a Serial Killer. This Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 9 pm ET, Oxygen will run an episode named Anthony Sowell.
How Many People Did Anthony Sowell Kill?
Women in the Cleveland area lived in constant fear before Anthony Sowell’s ultimate arrest on October 31, 2009.
For two years in a row, black women mysteriously vanished from the area around Sowell’s house, and authorities did not explain the disappearances or the foul odor that permeated the room.
It turned out that substance abuse and dependency were common denominators among his victims.
Though many cared for children, others were cut off from their relatives.
A total of eleven women’s bodies were discovered on Anthony Sowell’s property.
In 2011, a jury found him guilty, and received a death sentence. Sadly, the serial killer passed away in February 2021 while awaiting execution.
