The real person behind the series ‘Who is Anna?’, Anna Sorokin, has just been transferred out of the United States after a year imprisoned by Immigration.

Fake heiress Anna Sorokin, who was jailed in 2019 for swindling hundreds of thousands of dollars from hotels, banks, and friends, as well as inspiring a hit series on Netflix, is to be extradited to Germany.

The 31-year-old Russian-German citizen succeeded in 2016 and 2017 in deceiving New York elites by posing as a wealthy heiress, when in fact she was the daughter of a truck driver from the suburbs of Moscow.

Who Is Anna Sorokin?

Anna Sorokin, who is currently 31 years old, arrived in New York in 2013 with the intention of opening an exclusive art store for high society. The young woman boasted that she was a millionaire German heiress named Anna Delvey

However, the reality is that he was born in Domodedovo, a middle-class neighborhood in Moscow, Russia. Also, her parents were not wealthy, as her father was a truck driver and her mother owned a small convenience store. Her family came to Germany in 2007, when Anna was just 16 years old.

The woman managed to pocket an amount of approximately 275 thousand dollars by defrauding banks, hotels, businesses, acquaintances, and even friends. In her social networks, mainly on Instagram, she shared her life full of luxury, until she was arrested on October 3, 2017, in Los Angeles, California.

On April 25, 2019, a Manhattan jury convicted her of one count of attempted grand theft, three counts of grand larceny, and four counts of theft services.

How Long Was Anna Sorokin In Jail?

She spent four years in prison until she was released on February 11, 2021, for good behavior.

However, the young woman remained in the United States for longer than her visa allowed, for which she was imprisoned again.

Now, after more than 6 months in prison, Delvey has been deported.
