Brandi Carlile Sings ‘You and Me on the Rock’ With Her Wife: Songs like “You and Me on the Rock” by BRANDI CARLILE reference the sound and manner of the Laurel Canyon composers and Joni Mitchell.

Carlile is fully committing to the first anniversary of In These Silent Days by releasing a deluxe edition of the album titled In the Canyon Haze, which features new renditions of the songs in the style of Laurel Canyon.

Appropriately, the album’s first single is a new rendition of “You and Me on the Rock” that boasts a cameo from Carlile’s wife Catherine on vocals.

It’s a beautiful, sparse rendition of the song, with Brandi’s soary leads and Catherine’s low harmonies complementing each other beautifully.

Even though the minimalist instrumental bed shimmers like city lights in the distance, the performance feels as personal and cozy as if it were taking place in someone’s homeroom.

Carlile’s longtime friends and bandmates Phil and Tim Hanseroth helped her develop and record the new album.

Carlile does her version of “Space Oddity,” a David Bowie classic, in addition to reworking the songs on her album In These Silent Days.

Here in the Canyon On November 25th, Haze will be released exclusively on limited-edition vinyl, then on December 2nd, it will be released universally.

Carlile is currently headlining gigs on her “Beyond These Silent Days” tour and being nominated for Artist of the Year and Album of the Year at the 2022 Americana Honors & Awards.

She is scheduled to perform at the Red Rocks amphitheater in Colorado the following Friday and Saturday night. Then she will go on to play at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, the Pilgrimage Festival in Tennessee, and the Madison Square Garden in New York.
