Black Actor Died Today: Brad William Henke, a former NFL player and actor most remembered for his performance in “Orange Is the New Black,” has passed away. He was 56.
According to those close to Brad’s family, he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday. The reason for death is unknown.

Brad William Henke, who passed away recently, was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) before embarking on an acting career that featured roles in several popular television programmes, including Lost, Justified, and Orange Is the New Black. He was 56.
In seasons four and five of Orange Is the New Black on Netflix, he portrayed prison guard Desi Piscatella. As a member of the series’ winning cast, Henke received the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Comedy Series.
Henke, who was born on April 10, 1966 in Columbus, Nebraska, played defensive line for the Arizona Wildcats and was selected in the 1989 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. He was 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds at his peak when the Denver Broncos drafted him during his rookie season and played in Super Bowl XXIV before injuries ended his football career.
