1923 Episode 4 Recap & Ending Explained

1923 Episode 4 Recap & Ending Explained: Welcome to the recap and explanation of “War and the Turquoise Tide,” Episode 4 of 1923. The episode picks up where episode three left off, which had a lot going on.

1923 Episode 4 Recap

In episode 3, Baner and his men attacked Jacob and his family. Baner and his men were the shepherds who tried to get onto Dutton’s land and use it as a pasture for their sheep. John Dutton Jr. was killed in the process, leaving his wife alone. Jack Dutton, the youngest of the family, and his fiancee were both hurt. This weekend, let’s see what the Yellowstone Universe has in store.

Jacob Dutton was also hurt in the third episode, and it looked like he wouldn’t make it. Because of this, Cara Dutton, the family matriarch, started writing a letter to Spencer Dutton, who was in Africa then. In the letter, they ask him to return home and help them fight for the ranch’s legacy. When will the letter get there? Did Jacob get better after he was hurt? Episode 4 gives answers to all of these questions and many more.

Did Jacob Dutton Manage to Stay Alive?

Episode 3’s biggest mystery was what would happen to Jacob Dutton. Not only because he is played by the legendary Harrison Ford but also because he seems to be the primary support of a family about to go through some tough times. Of course, all this is done to raise the stakes and keep the drama going for the rest of the season. When Jacob is taken out of the picture, the characters are put in a very uncomfortable situation, which is where you want them to be.

At the beginning of the episode, Cara cleans up all the blood from the table where the doctor took care of Jacob in the last episode. The most loyal foreman on the ranch, Zane, tries to help Cara, but she says no. She gives him the letter he wrote to Spencer instead, which he needs to mail. Zane says that sending a wire would be faster, but Cara doesn’t want Jacob’s status to be known. It turns out that Jacob is not dead but that he has been hurt and is very weak. At least he made it through the first night.

While this is going on, Baner is making moves, meeting with a man named Donald Whitfield. Baner knows that Donald has been trying to take over the ranch for a while. Baner says that he will be running the farm in six months, and when that happens, he will give Donald the mining rights. Baner and Donald make a deal where Baner keeps the land, and Donald keeps the mountains. They shake on it, and Donald tells Baner that he will give him the money he needs to force his way into the Yellowstone ranch.

The livestock commission has its usual meeting, but Jacob isn’t there. Instead, Cara shows up and suggests that the commission should be able to make arrests since thieves and killers are roaming the land who are stealing livestock and killing people. Even though many people are upset that a woman is making decisions, the plan is passed. Baner makes Cara afraid by saying that he knows Jacob is dead. Cara comes back with a threat, saying she wants Baner to meet her nephew Spencer, not Jack.

Does Spencer Get The Letter When It’s Supposed To?

The rest of the episode is about two other stories. We return to the Christian boarding school to find out what is going on with Teonna. She is made to work in the fields while the nuns watch and put down each girl. When Teonna sees a nun hitting one of the girls, she has had enough and hits back. Teonna is hit with a shovel by Sister Mary, who then grabs her and beats her until she says she wants to be saved. Mary cuts Teonna’s hair, then torture her even more while they bathe her.

That night, Teonna looks up at the ceiling with a plan to kill. She decides to run away from school and return home. One of her friends sees her but doesn’t say a word. Teonna takes her pillowcase and fills it with a lot of bibles. Then she enters Sister Mary’s room and hits her with the bibles. This is a brutal attack. She then stuffs a piece of cloth into Mary’s mouth and suffocates her to death. Teonna says that she is the land and that the land is killing Mary.

At the same time, Spencer and Alex are still living in paradise in Africa. This time, they are on the coast of Africa, a place not many people talk about because they don’t know it exists. Most people think of Africa as a big desert. It turns out that Alex lost a brother during the war, while Spencer says he lost his soul. The two say that life will always be an adventure for them.

Later that day, Alex finds a bunch of letters that Cara had written. Alex thinks she’s Spencer’s wife, but she’s Spencer’s aunt. Spencer says that he didn’t read the notes because they might have given him hope, and in war, hope can make you lose focus and get killed. He feels terrible that he didn’t read them. Alex says he wants to read them all while having a few drinks. They do, and reading the letters makes them cry and laugh simultaneously. In the morning, Alex starts to read the last note, which Cara sent in this episode, and Spencer realises that he needs to go home now that his brother is dead.
