Will There Be A Stargirl Season 4? Wednesday night marked the series finale of DC’s Stargirl on The CW, and the final episode was a bittersweet one for the show’s many devoted viewers. Although viewers had hoped Stargirl would be renewed for a fourth season, the show’s producers were given fair warning that it was unlikely the show would be renewed, allowing them to write an ending that not only resolved the season’s storylines and other lingering threads but also provided a glimpse into the future of their favourite characters to leave them feeling hopeful that “never the end” really is.
Even if DC’s Stargirl were to have a proper finale, the question of whether or not she could come back would still be open.
Will There Be A Stargirl Season 4?
We regret to inform you that Stargirl will not return for a fourth season. Despite the show’s popularity, The CW decided not to renew it for a fourth season. As a result, this is the final episode of the entire series.
There are no signs of DC’s Stargirl being picked up by another network or platform. Star Brec Bassinger has said that she and the rest of the cast knew the show’s fate was uncertain after recent shakeups at The CW and Warner Bros. and that creator Geoff Johns had done everything possible to ready the show for cancellation; she also speculated that the possibility of a Season 4 being greenlit was a factor in the delay in making a decision.
The season finale leaves things open in a way that allows for future stories to be told, even if the thought of the series finding a new home on another network seems unlikely. For months, fans have speculated that DC’s Stargirl and HBO Max’s Titans might cross over. Back in September, Bassinger posted a shot of herself as Stargirl alongside Ryan Potter of Titans, Johns, and director Eric Dean Seaton.
Fans naturally assumed that the photo meant Stargirl and Titans will crossover, given that Stargirl was filmed in Atlanta and in Toronto. While something has yet to be confirmed, it’s not out of the question given that we last saw Stargirl and her crew victorious and that we know they will continue to be heroes well into the future.
And, naturally, the credits roll at the end. While the final episode of DC’s Stargirl features a title card reading “Never The End,” series creator Geoff Johns told TVLine that even if the chapter may have closed on this particular series, these are storylines that continue indefinitely.
