Judith Durham, an Australian musician, died at the age of 79.

Australian folk music group, The Seekers, was founded in Melbourne in 1962 by the singer and songwriter.

With hits like Georgy Girl, I’ll Never Find Another You, and I’m Australian, they were among the most popular 1960s groups.

The band only existed for five years, from 1963 to 1968, yet it has sold more than 50 million records worldwide.

According to The Guardian, she died in palliative care on Friday night (August 5th) after being treated at Melbourne’s Alfred hospital.

Her death was caused by complications from bronchiectasis, a long-standing chronic lung illness, and social media has been inundated with tributes.

Judith Durham Married With Ron Edgeworth In 1969

Ron Edgeworth and Judith Edgeworth were married for 35 years, from 1969 to 1994.

Actor and composer noted for roles in Raw Deal (1977) and Cash and Company (1975); he served as her musical director.

Before coming to Nambour, Queensland, in the mid-1980s, they married at Scots’ Church in Melbourne and resided in the United Kingdom and Switzerland for a few years.

After his diagnosis, he died on December 10th of that year with Judith by his side. She didn’t get married again and never had children.

For those who believe in karma and reincarnation, Ron’s spiritual path was always a source of comfort to Judith.

Did They Have Children?

According to the Seekers ‘ official website, Judith and her late husband Ron decided not to have children.

It’s clear that their “passion for each other and the music that was intertwined into every aspect of their lives” brought them great happiness.

In addition to Athol, a member of the band, Keith and Pam Potger had two children, Cassi and Matthew, of whom Athol is the father.

The father of Claire and Dan is Bruce, who had his own family.
