He left in October 2018, and Gunn was hired to write and direct the picture that sacked as a director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by Disney and Marvel Studios (2023). He was inspired by war films and John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad comics from the 1980s and opted to explore new characters in a plot apart from the original film’s narrative.
