Who Played Fred In Stranger Things? Even though Stranger Things 4 featured a slew of new faces, one character, in particular, remained a mystery.
Fans don’t know much about Logan Riley Bruner, the actor who portrays Fred Benson, because he wasn’t announced until the beginning of February 2022.
On the other hand, Bruner appeared on the Showbiz Cheat Sheet to talk about the new season.
Who Played Fred In Stranger Things?
Newcomer Fred Benson, played by Logan Riley Bruner, is a close friend of Nancy’s and a rising star in journalism.
A more accurate description could be that viewers don’t really learn much about this character.
Season 4, part 1, premieres with a lot of death, and we’re led to believe that Fred will be the next victim of Vecna, the season’s main antagonist.
Vecna manipulates Fred into seeing the cop as a demon in a scene where Nancy and Fred are stopped by a cop.
Although this is presented uncertainly, the deeper meaning is revealed. Previously, Fred was responsible for a hit-and-run and left someone on the side of the road. We’ll never learn the name of the victim he struck.
It’s been shown that Vecna targets not only individuals who have been abused but also those who are consumed by feelings of guilt and shame.
After all, Fred sped off without reporting the event and avoided any consequences… That is, up to the arrival of Vecna.
As time passes, Vecna continues to irritate Fred by showing him visions of the anguish the deceased’s family endured in the wake of the disaster.
Vecna finally decides it’s time to murder him, and we see Fred being dragged from his feet as his body contorts into a final pose.
Fred Benson Perssonality
As far as I can tell, Fred is nothing more than a classic 1980s nerd who is both intelligent and kind-hearted. However, when it came to Jonathan Byers’s character, Nancy was treated with some humor and sarcasm.
Nancy invited him to join her in investigating Chrissy’s murder because of his intelligence and passion for journalism.
Unlike the other reporters at the Hawkins Post, Fred had no sexist attitudes toward Nancy.
As clever and rational as Fred appears, he is tormented by guilt about his role in the tragic 1985 car accident, and he believes that he is often mistaken for a “murderer” by the public.
Vecna targets him because of his remorse and mental instability as a result. Fred’s death is a direct effect of this, as a result of this.
